Karen Sieber - Owner and Executive Director Karen has 15 years of public education experience in grades K-12. She holds a B.S. degree and M.S. degree in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and a M.S. in Educational Administration from the University of Wisconsin Madison. Karen was a classroom teacher for five years and an elementary principal for 10 years. She understands how important it is for students socially, emotionally, and academically to be successful in school and how Sylvan can support children and families in reaching their goals. Jessica Rychlik - Director Jessica has a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from UW Whitewater. Jessica brings to Sylvan several years of classroom experience in a public education setting. In her free time she enjoys reading, hiking, and camping. Jessica thinks it is amazing to see the faces of children when they have accomplished something that they have struggled with for so long. Jennifer Guthrie - Director Jennifer has over six years of leadership experience in the supplemental education field. She recieved her masters degreee from Cardinal Stritch and has had six years of classroom experience in a public education setting. In her free time Jennifer enjoys karaoke and spending time with her family. Jodie Zlotnik - Instructor Jodie graduated from Carroll University with a BS in psychology and mathematics and holds an elementary education certification. During college she tutored her peers at the math help center on campus. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis, bowling, quilting, baking and watching movies. Jodie enjoys helping students succeed in the classroom and as a recent college graduate is very excited to be teaching. Karen A. Pakulski - Instructor Karen has a B.S. degree in Upper Elementary Education and a M.S. degree in Educational Curriculum from UW Whitewater. She is retired from the Waukesha School District. In her free time she enjoys reading, gardening, traveling, and activities at the Mukwonago Athletic Club. Karen enjoys working with and watching children build their confidence as learners at Sylvan. Andrea Kornowski - Instructor Andrea is currently a student at the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater. She will receive her degree in biology and broadfield sciences. She also teaches Spanish for the before and after school programs in the lake country area. During her free time Andrea enjoys teaching pitching classess, playing fastpitch softball and spending time outdoors. Andrea enjoys making the learning experience fun for her students. Christina Carlson- Instructor Christina is a graduate of Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI. She majored in elementary education with a social studies concentration. Christina enjoys being with friends and family and spending time outside. She enjoys working at Sylvan because it gives her the opportunity to teach children, which is what she loves to do! Kayla Ripplinger- Instructor Kayla is a Carroll College graduate with an English major and secondary education minor. She is currently a substitute in local school districts, and teaches a variety of subjects at Sylvan, including Spanish. In her free time, Kayla enjoys reading, cooking, playing sports, and spending time with her family. Fred Wendt- Instructor Fred is a graduate of UW-Whitewater and Marian College. He is a special education teacher in the Palmyra-Eagle school district during the day. Fred enjoys spending time with his son and daughter, coaching, fishing, music, and festivals. He enjoys working at Sylvan to help students be successful in school. Alyssa Russo- Instructor Alyssa is currently a student at Marquette University where she is double majoring in education and broad sciences (chemistry, biology, and physics). She enjoys working at Sylvan because she loves teaching and helping others grow and succeed. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, dancing, and reading. Dana Kanter- Instrutor Dana recently graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Elementary Education. Teaching is her passion, and she loves being a positive influence in the lives of her students. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, being outside, and spending time with her family and friends. Amanda Larson- Instructor Amanda is graduate of UW- Oshkosh where she earned a BSE in secondary math and a minor in Earth Science. She completed her student teaching experience in Milwaukee Public School District, and has tutored elementary, secondary, and post-secondary levels in a variety of subject areas. Amanda enjoys reading, playing volleyball, walking, and spending time with family and friends. She loves to see that light-bulb turn on when students finally understand something that was once so confusing. Greg Remsza- Instructor Greg graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater where he earned a bachelors degree in Physics with secondary education, Math minor, and broadfield Science certificate. Greg completed student teaching at Waukesha South High School and coaches baseball and soccer in the Town of Vernon. Greg enjoys spending time with his three children. Ann Rawlinson- Instructor Ann is a substitute teacher for Tamarack Waldorf and Prairie Hill Waldorf Schools. She enjoys skiing, cooking, baking, and going to the theatre. Ann enjoys working at Sylvan because she enjoys the variety of students. Aaron Kooping- Instructor Aaron is attending the University of Whitewater studying to be a high school math teacher. He was a part of an undergraduate research project involving the substitution rule in calculus. In his free time, he enjoys playing his bass, hanging out with friends, and playing soccer. Aaron enjoys working at Sylvan because he likes using his passion in math to help others. |
